WALTHERIA

This highly recognized Guatemalan Fashion Designer gave us an already expected parade of colorful prints and mixtures of textures that are his  trademark, But what nobody expected was when the models just stood still for more than 15 minutes and nothing happened. suddenly out of nowhere one of the attendees went up to this gorgeous dark skin model and started feeling the fabric of the jacket... and that was the moment when we all realized it was an interactive fashion show.
We could all touch, lift and just plain stare at the garments. It was one of a kind experience because we could actually look at everything up close and personal.
Another part of the show I enjoyed was the presence of one of my favorite brand of accessories,Medium. The quirky but very usable clutches gave each outfit the final touch.
So my final verdict on this show...
I' m gonna start wearing men's clothes and starting with a waltheria suit most definitely.

Amiga magazine fashion show

Amiga magazine is one Guatemala's most important written publications. It satrted as the Guatemalan equivalent of "good house keeping" or "red book" and has evolved into a very fashion conscious magazine.
I have to say The woman behind the transformation is Brenda Enriquez, who is not only the editor of the magazine but also the one responsible for this important event.
Why is this event different from the rest of the shows before?
Its main goal is to expose the growing fashion industry in Guatemala with a runway show presenting a few of the top designers in this country. A very eclectic hairpiece runway by Eddy Uker evoking greek gods and godesses.
We also had the pleasure to see a colombian Designer who resides in Guatemala whose creations can make us drool... and he actually did, with a cast of models who were very easy on the eyes.
So we had a "royals" cover, important people of the industry, good looking models, cocktails and lots of amazing pieces.
enjoy.
